Donald McLennan – We at Stories Of The Kruger have known Donald for a long time, and he is an excellent guide, and can make your next Kruger Park adventure memorable! Here is a bit about him:

Donald’s Story

“Born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaya during the Jungle conflict of the late fifties, I then grew up in Rhodesia. I joined the British South African Police. As a Policeman I saw a lot of the dark side of human nature. I found myself getting very involved with investigating Cattle rustling and especially poaching of Wildlife for the exploitation of contraband.

Through this experience, my bush craft skills grew exponentially and I found myself loving the great outdoors.

I then trained to become a professional hunter, only to find that it did not fit too well with my personal ethics, so I veered off and became a ranger in places that a married ranger could not manage. (Due to the fact that the areas were still under threat of the Bush War)

After the conflict, I decided to come to South Africa and try my hand at being a Game Ranger for National Parks. Unfortunately, Unlike in Rhodesia, the biggest requirement for Game Ranger was to have studied to be a Veterinarian. This, I had not done, and so did not qualify. Hence my in and outs of various careers until such time, in early 1995, as I decided to settle for Tourism in it’s entirety.

My Guiding experience and knowledge includes, History, Culture, Wilderness, and various forms of angling, the most important of which is Fly Fishing.

Therefore I have accumulated 28 years of Guiding experience, as well as 43 years of Wilderness experience and knowledge within Southern Africa.”

Donald knows the Kruger National Park like the back of his hand, and will be the perfect guide to show you, and teach you about everything the Kruger has to offer.
